Sherry "Darlene" Green Batten, 51, of Ty Ty, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder Jamey Tucker will officiate and Rev. Marion Green will give a eulogy. Burial will follow in Salem Memorial Gardens. J. B. Stinchcomb, Craig Holcombe, Chase Green, Brandon Joyner, Corey Green, Ethan Green, Mitchell Green and Walt Dunn will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Batten was born on May 14, 1956 in Tifton and was the daughter of Henry Glenn Green and Resa Vickers Green of Omega. She was a retired accountant with Gerald Herring CPA Group and a member of Eureka Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Batten is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Gary Batten of Ty Ty; three daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Chad McDaniel of Quitman, Jennifer and Jamie Reynolds of Tifton, and Rebekah and Meloy Avera of Ty Ty; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dane and Lisa Green of Omega, Kevin and Donna Green of Omega, and Keith and Suzanne Green of Omega; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Bob Davis of Orlando, Florida, and Kim and Ricky Joyner of Omega; and two granddaughters, Kirstin McDaniel of Quitman and Isabell Avera of Ty Ty.
