Obituary

FRANKLIN—Richard L. Daigneault 58, of 8 Bunny Dr. died Monday May 21, 2007 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital following a illness. He was the husband of Sandra J. (Pelletier) Daigneault.
Born in Attleboro, November 11, 1948 a son of the late Laurent and Jeanne Y. (Quintin) Daigneault he lived in Attleboro and Virginia for a time before settling in Franklin over 25 years ago.
He was educated in Attleboro and Virginia schools, and was a graduate of Tidewater Community College in Virginia and he also received his Master’s degree in Econometrics from Framingham State College.
Mr. Daigneault worked for over 25 years as the Chief Financial Officer for the Neponset Valley Health Systems in Norwood and Norfolk.
He served in the US Army during the Viet-Nam War and attained the rank of specialist 5th class and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Viet-Nam Commendation Medal.
His hobbies and interest included stock-trading, coin collecting and traveling, especially going on cruises and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 26 years are 2 daughters Lindsay A. Daigneault and Michelle R. Daigneault both of Franklin, 3 brothers David Daigneault and his wife Bobbi of Virginia, Steven VanBuskirk and his wife Ginger of Virginia and Jeffrey VanBuskirk and his wife Debbie of Virginia, also surviving is his mother-in-law Evelyn Pelletier of Franklin and his brother-in-law Robert Pelletier and his wife Elizabeth of New Hampshire.
He is also is survived by several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion “Sophie”.
He was the brother of the late Cheryl Riely and the son-in-law of the late Norman “Red” Pelletier who died May 7, 2007.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday May 25, 2007 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin. Burial will follow in the family lot in Plainville Cemetery, West Bacon St., Plainville.
Calling hours are Thursday May 24, 2007 from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
