Rose Ferris, 55, of Rochester, NH, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at her home in Rochester. Mrs. Ferris was born in Ward Hill, MA on April 9, 1952, a daughter of Kenneth and the late Katherine (Paradis) Keith. Her mother passed away when she was only 6 years old, and she was raised by her grandfather, Edilbert Paradis. She was educated in Haverhill, MA and graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1970. She was a resident of Derry, NH for most of her life. In the early 1990’s Rose worked as a CNA for the Sisters of Mercy in Windham, NH and also did home health care. She also babysat a lot of the neighborhood kids, and was known as “Auntie Rose.” She enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to cook and enjoyed animals, especially her cats.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Roy of Rochester, three sons, Joseph D. Ferris and his wife Taya of Lee, NH, Timothy G. Ferris and his wife Jackie of Londonderry, NH, Michael J. Ferris and his wife Shannon of Litchfield, NH, seven grandchildren, Connor, Ariana, Clayton, Jillian, Caitlyn, Brayden and Nevaeh, and also by aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother and her grandfather, Edilbert Paradis in 1986.
Visiting hours were held Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 3-5 and 7-9pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Interment followed in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in N. Andover, MA.
