Florence A. “Emily” (Willis) Walker died in her home Monday May 21st after a period of failing health. She was the wife for 72 years of the late Elmer W. Walker.
Born and raised in Brockton she was a daughter of the late Warren and Effie (Chapman) Willis.
She was a past resident of West Bridgewater before moving to Halifax 23 years ago.
Emily loved sewing, crocheting and baking pies as well as playing Bingo, however her greatest love was spending time with her many family members.
She is survived by her children Joan C. Devereux of Sandwich, Judith A. Cannizzaro of West Bridgewater, Kathleen M. Boss of Whitman, and Susan J. Mandeville of Halifax, her sister Effie MacMillan of Taunton and her brother Robert Willis of Halifax, also 19 grandchildren 31 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Thomas F. Walker and Jean F. Freitas and sister of the late Ronald Willis, Evelyn Bourque and Helen Urbano.
Her funeral will be held Thursday May 24th at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte 58 @ the Rotary Circle)Whitman followed by a 10:00AM Mass in the Holy Ghost Church, School Street, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday May 23rd from 4 – 8 PM.
