Mrs. Annie Y. Wells, 88, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, May 21 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, May 23, at New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church, Ben Hill County, with Rev. Vernon Hughes and Rev. Marvin Ruis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wells was born April 21, 1919 in Ben Hill County, to the late Jake and Datty Ann Smith Young. She was a homemaker and lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Wells was a member of New Corinth Calvary Holiness Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, J.B. & Mary Lynda Wells of Macon, Robert T. & Colleen Wells, Jr., Danny & Denise Wells, all of Fitzgerald; daughters and sons-in-law, Opal & Jr. Pridgen of Wray, Betty Jean & Earl Braswell of Eatonton and JoAnn & James Griffin of Fitzgerald; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Theo Wells, Sr., 2 grandchildren, 9 brothers and 1 sister.
