Wendy Colmes Davis-Sammis, 59, of Bedford, NH died at home on May 20, 2007. Ms. Davis-Sammis was born in Newton, MA on April 7, 1948; the daughter of Bernard Colmes and the late Dorothy (Vernon) Colmes, and the wife of the late Arnold F. Sammis III. Ms. Davis-Sammis was a graduate of Brookline High School in Brookline, MA, received her bachelor's degree from the University of Denver, and her master's degree from Boston University. During her career as a graphic designer, she worked at Children's Hospital in Boston and Youville Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Cambridge, MA. She was also self-employed as a buyer and seller of antiques.
In addition to her father of Needham, MA; Ms. Davis-Sammis is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Sackman of Exton, PA, and sister, Francia Davis of Manchester, ME.
Private services will be held lakeside at her home in Freedom, NH on Thursday, May 24th. Friends may call on Friday, May 25 th, from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Davis-Sammis residence in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Arnold F. Sammis and Wendy Davis-Sammis Memorial Fund of the Ossipee Lake Alliance, P.O. Box 173, Freedom, NH 03836, or the Dorothy V. Colmes Fund for Lymphedema Research, Office of Development, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, P.O. Box 9002, Boston MA, 02205. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
