William "Billy" Thomas Hilton, 78, of Tifton, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder Maurice Riner and Elder John S. Mikell will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Joe Hilton, Steve Hogan, Milton Rousey, David Clements, Freddie Cheek and Roger Walker will service as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
Mr. Hilton was born on May 23, 1928 in Irwin County and was the son of O. R. Hilton and Georgia Ann Roberts Hilton, both deceased. He was a farmer and a school bus driver and had lived in Tift County for 58 years.
Mr. Hilton is survived by his wife, Jean Clements Hilton of Tifton; three sons, Thomas L. Hilton of Irwin County, Dicky W. Hilton of Tifton and Charlie R. Hilton of Tifton; three brothers, Pat Hilton of Loganville, Johnny Hilton of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Hal Hilton of Irwin County; three sisters, Polly Scott of Lumber City, Lanell Hinkle of Nashville, and Betty June Bradford of Loganville; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
