Obituary

Norman V. Gibeault, 81, of 130 Chestnut Street, Franklin, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at Milford Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Molle) Gibeault, who died last year.

Born in Plainfield, Connecticut June 1, 1925 a son of the late Joseph N. and Odinas (Messier) Gibeault, he formerly lived in Bellingham for many years, until returning to Franklin, several years ago.

He was raised and educated in Connecticut, and until his retirement many years ago, was employed by the Franchose Brothers Paving Co., in Natick, as a foreman. He was an accomplished musician. He played the guitar and saxophone professionally with several Milford area bands.

During WW II he served in the US Navy. He attained the rank of Gunners Mate 3rd class, and was honorably discharged in January 1946.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Council #1847 Knights of Columbus in Franklin, and Franklin Post #3402 VFW in Franklin. He was a former member of the Milford Musicians Union, The Bellingham Senior Citizens, where he served as a vice president, and was a communicant of the former Assumption Church in Bellingham.
He is survived by 3 sons: Robert N. Gibeault of Tewksbury, Ronald M. Gibeault of Concord, New Hampshire, and Mark A. Gibeault of Palm Bay, Florida. A sister: Marcella Tucker of Foster, Rhode Island, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was also the father of the late Richard P. Gibeault.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday, at 8:15 AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, at 9:00 AM.

Following cremation, interment with military honors will take place Saturday, May 26th, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours are Monday from 4 – 8 PM.
