Roger R. Beliveau, 89, of Derry, NH, died Friday, May 18, 2007 in the Haven Healthcare Center in Derry. Mr. Beliveau was born in Derry on September 4, 1917, a son of the late Sylvio and Euphemie M. (Pelletier) Beliveau and had been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, class of 1935. Mr. Beliveau was employed as an operations officer for Indian Head Bank in Derry for 28 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Derry Lions Club for 25 years, where he had served as president, and was a member of the Derry Cooperative School Board. Mr. Beliveau had also served as the Assistant Moderator for the Town of Derry, and was a former NH State Representative. He was the treasurer for the Pinkerton Academy Alumni Association and was a member of the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame. Mr. Beliveau was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church where he served on the Parish Council and was past president. Following retirement, Mr. Beliveau had worked for Shaw's Supermarket in Derry for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Theresa M. (Bernier) Beliveau of Derry; two sons, Roger P. Beliveau and his wife Barbara of Derry, and John A. Beliveau and his wife Karen of Londonderry, NH; six grandchildren, Christopher Beliveau, Mark Beliveau, Michelle Palucci, Matthew Beliveau, Jennifer Beliveau, and Michael Beliveau; seven great grandchildren; and several cousins.
Calling hours were on Tuesday, May 22nd from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Aquinas School, PO Box 387, Derry, NH 03038.
