
Clenon Eudell Bishop, 85, of Tifton, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at Northside Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Johnson and Dr. Fred Evers wukk officiate with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Deacons of Northside Baptist Church and his Sunday School Class at Northside Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Bishop was born on April 10, 1922 and was the son of William Bishop and Jeanie Arnold Bishop, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Barbara Gayle Bishop Morgan, who died in 2003; seven brothers and two sisters. He was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church, where he served actively for many years. He was a deacon and was known for his honor and integrity. Mr. Bishop retired after 23 years of working as the sub-distributor for Tom Houston Peanut Company. He then went to work for the City of Tifton for 13 years, where he retired in 2001.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Johnston Bishop of Tifton; one son, Jerry Bishop of Destin, Florida; a son-in-law, Webster B. Morgan; two granddaughters, Hanna Marie and Mary Ruth Morgan; and two great grandchildren, Braydon and Parker; one sister, Ilene Bishop Tidwell of Tifton; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund of Northside Baptist Church or a charity for Alzheimers Research.
