New Bedford - Roland Priest, 78, of Westport passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mary (Lewis) Priest.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Roland B. and Blanche (Desrosiers) Priest, he had resided in Westport for the past 43 years. He served in the Army Reserves during the Korean War. Mr. Priest worked as a supervisor for Elbe File for 10 years, worked in building construction for 22 years and also at Charlton Memorial Hospital for 10 years. He enjoyed bowling and golf.
Including his wife, he is survived by 7 children: Susan Miranda of Tiverton, Gloria Fournier of Dartmouth, Claire Warren of Jupiter, FL, Gary Priest of Westport, Thomas Priest of Westport, James Priest of RI and Kevin Priest of CA; 4 sisters: Blanche Ayash of Fall River, Irene Mello of Tiverton, Edith Mello of Fall River and Doris Lileyard of IL; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Michael Botelho and brother of the late Harold Priest and Priscilla Davis.
