Worcester- Thomas D. Bain Sr., 55, of 255 Pilgrim Avenue, died Sunday, Nov. 17, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Carol G. (Erickson) Bain; a son, Thomas D. Bain Jr. of Auburn; three daughters, Brenda C. Haley of Holden, Doreen W. Samara of Worcester, and Sandra J. Kelly of Worcester; his mother, Julia (Dulskis) Bain of Auburn; two brothers, John Bain and Daniel Bain, both of Worcester; two sisters, Geraldine Sykes of Dennisport and Diane Flaminio of Worcester; 6 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of John "Scotty" Bain, and lived here all his life.
Mr. Bain was a welder for 36 years at Wright Line Co., and was still working at the time of his death.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a charter member of the Worcester Eagles Aerie #4311, a member of Leicester Country Club, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home (www.worcesterfuneral.com), 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the funeral home.
