Mrs. Ruth Evelyn (Libby) Myers, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Clarence H. Myers, died at the Woburn Nursing Center in Woburn, Massachusetts, following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on August 10, 1920, she was a beloved daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Sherman) Libby. Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1938. She was a lifelong member of the First Community United Methodist Church of Medford and had been very active at the church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was a real family person, always putting her family first.
She will be missed by her beloved daughter Shirley Ann Henderson of Malden, two loving sons and one daughter-in-law; Robert A. and his wife Deanna Myers of Southborough and Richard C. Myers of Medford and 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Marion Phillips.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were, Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
