Mr. Arnold L. Grant, a 36 year resident of Medford and beloved husband of Jeanette C. (Chiary) died at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 16, 2007, following a lengthy illness. He was 69 years old.
Born on October 28, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he was a beloved son of the late Lester L. and Vera (McConnell) Grant. Mr. Grant was a Vietnam US Coast Guard Veteran, serving from November 9, 1954 until receiving his honorable discharge on November 7, 1958, at Boston, Massachusetts. During his military career, Mr. Grant earned the Good Conduct Medal and attained the rank of BM3. He served as facilities manager for many years at a local publishing company. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing horse shoes with his friends and family. He also very much enjoyed camping and traveling.
Besides his beloved wife, Jeanette, he will be sorely missed by his loving children Deborah A. and her husband Charles Boyle of Wilmington, Mark L. and his wife Tracy A. Grant of Medford and Leanne G. Patchin of Billerica, siblings; Donald Grant of CA, Dorothy Grant of CO, Dora Weeks of KY, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Elizabeth Grant and Esther Grant.
A funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, May 19, 2007, at 8 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours were Saturday, May 19, 2007, prior to the service, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was private. Vietnam.
