Beverly: Ruth E. (Burns) Halle age 87 of Beverly, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly. She was the wife of the late Dominique ‘Leo’ Halle.
Born in Newton and raised in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Alice E. (Owens) Burns. She was a graduate of Quincy High and Burdett Business School. She first gained clerical experience in real estate and municipal government offices. Ruth later worked, in the same capacity, in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy offices in Boston for a total of 15 years before joining the Department of Fish & Wildlife in 1970.
A most gracious lady, Ruth was an avid reader who loved animals and swimming. She and her late husband were long-time members of St. Alphonsus Parish on the Beverly Danvers line.
She is survived by a cousin, Meredith Lang of Randolph as well as several devoted members of the Halle family. She was predeceased by her sister Marjorie Burns.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Monday, May 21, 2007, at 1 pm in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Route 114 / 1/A] Salem. Visiting hours will precede her service from 11 am to 1 pm. Burial will be in North Beverly Cemetery, Beverly.
