Obituary

WEBSTER - Agnes J. “Aggie” (Szymczak) Walkowiak, 77, of 30 Joyce Street, died Thursday, May 17, in the Meadows of Leicester after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Walkowiak; nieces and nephews.

She was born in Webster, the daughter of Frank A. and Agnes (Biernat) Szymczak and lived here all her life. She attended Bartlett High School.

Mrs. Walkowiak was a teacher’s aide at Bartlett High School for 15 years. After, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Thaddeus Lewandowski and then for Dr. Diane Capoli, retiring in 1991. In her retirement, she volunteered at the Dudley Courthouse for several years.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She excelled at candlepin bowling and bowled for many years in the Central Mass. Women’s League.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 22, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 2:30 to 4:30 and from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday, May 21, in the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to either Saint Joseph Basilica for the renovation of the Felician Sisters’ Convent, or to Friends of St. Joseph School Fund, both 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570
