Loving fiancée of Luiz Guzman, Sr. She also leaves her stepfather Leonard Shelby of Brockton and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service in The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 752 Oak St.,Brockton Monday at 10am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte123) Brockton Sunday 5-8 pm. Lisa M.Simmons, 41 years died Monday at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston after a brief illness. She was born in Brockton, a daughter of Edna (Harris) Simmons of Brockton and the late Hayward Simmons and remained a lifelong resident. She attended Brockton Schools and for the past 8 years had been a certified nursing assistant at Hearthstone at Heights Crossing. Previously she had worked at St. Joseph’s Manor.
Lisa so loved her job and patients that on her free time she would take them on field trips, to the beach, dancing and applying makeup and nail polish for the ladies. Lisa had walked to raise over $5,000 for Alzheimer’s research.
She is survived by her children, Edgar Orrico and Luis Guzman both of Brockton, her mother,Edna (Harris) Simmons of Brockton, 4 sisters and 2 brothers Irene Simmons of Boston, Patricia Tagger-Ward, Richard Simmons, Michelle Jean-Pierre, Leonard Readus and Erica Simmons all of Brockton and her fiancé Luiz Guzman, Sr. She also leaves her stepfather Leonard Shelby of Brockton and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
