DUDLEY – Helen B. (Stelmach) Castonguay, 90, died Wednesday, May 16, in Radius Healthcare, Southbridge. Her husband of 35 years, Henry T. Castonguay, died in 1976.
She leaves her son, John H. “Jack” and his wife Debra A. Castonguay of Thompson, CT; a brother, Bernard Stelmach of Dudley; two sisters, Rose Lyle of Dudley and Lorraine Snyder of Colchester, CT; a granddaughter, Desiree Nobles; two step granddaughters, Tami Hopkins and Holly McClure; three great grandchildren, Kyle, Megan and Tara Nobles; three step great grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Hopkins and Brandan McClure; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Keith J. Castonguay.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Pyra) Stelmach, and lived in Dudley most of her life.
Mrs. Castonguay owned and operated the Silhouette Beauty Salon where she was a hairdresser for 50 years. She retired in 1987.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church in Webster. She enjoyed gardening and painting.
The funeral will be held Monday, May 21, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:30 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be held from 9:45to 10:45 AM Monday, May 21, in the funeral home.
