Obituary

Armand L. Hubert Sr. 85, formerly of 547 Clinton St. Died Tuesday at the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. Armand was born in Woonsocket December 31, 1921, a son of the late Ludovic and Albina (Beaudoin) Hubert. He was a Woonsocket resident most of his life.

Mr. Hubert was a WWII Army veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, and was the recipient of many medals, most notably the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in 1946. His working career included the Argonne Worsted in Woonsocket, and the Champion Corrugated Box Co. where he worked for 23 years until his retirement in 1974.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Woonsocket and was one of its very first altar boys.

Armand will especially be remembered for his love of music and love of life. He was always happy to sing and play the ukulele and harmonica at family gatherings.
Armand is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Doris (Bergeron) Hubert. Besides his wife he is survived his son Armand Hubert Jr. of Warwick, a granddaughter Leslie Hubert of Warwick, a sister Annette Bergeron of Canada, a brother Roland Hubert of Woonsocket and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jeanne Muron. All those who knew him will cherish his memory.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Joseph’s Church 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 931 Jefferson Blvd Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
