Obituary

Arnold Sutcliffe, 92, a resident of the Oxford Manor in Haverhill, passed away on Saturday, May 12th, 2007 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, MA.
He was born and educated in Methuen, Massachusetts. He worked for many years as a foreman at the Stevens Mill in Andover, MA. Also worked as a Security Guard at Raytheon in Andover until his retirement. Later he managed Golfland in North Andover. He also served in the Lawrence Police Auxiliary. He was a member of the English Social Club in Lawrence and a member of the Lawrence Senior Center. According to his family he was an all around sportsman, he loved to fish, bowl, play softball, and golf. The one sport he excelled and loved to play was shuffleboard having received various awards while spending winters in Longboat Key, Florida.
He is the husband of the late Lillian F. (McCarthy) Sutcliffe who predeceased him on January 15, 1975. He leaves three sons: Arnold Sutcliffe of The Villages, Florida, Wayne and his wife Katherine (Doherty) Sutcliffe of East Amherst, NY, Brian and his wife Janet of West Peabody, MA. As well as 8 grand children, and 10 great grand children as well as several nieces and nephews. Also a special friend Pauline Hanley of South Lawrence.
A funeral service will be held at John Breen Funeral Home, Friday, May 18, 2007 at 11:00AM. A burial will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen.
