Elsie J. Tucker Simmons, 78, of Tifton died Monday, May 14, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Simmons was born on February 26, 1929 in Crisp County and was the daughter of Reason Tucker and Mattie Connor Tucker, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ferrel Simmons; one son; one brother; and two sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. Simmons is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Vickie Sue Simmons of Norman park, and Neil and Patricia Simmons of Ty Ty; and one grandson, Alex Simmons.
