Domenic “Fitzi” Faliero died Monday at his Medford home after a brief illness. He was 86.
Born and raised in the North End of Boston, he was the son of the late Marino and the late Filomena (Verrochi) Faliero.
A hard worker who was always up to a good challenge, Fitzi worked as a cab driver with ITOA cab in 1949. He owned and operated Fitzi Disposal from 1959 to 1995, when he retired. He also operated Dom’s ARCO in Somerville from 1973-1979.
He is survived by his wife Rose (Puopolo), his sons Michael and Domenic and daughters Lorraine Russell and Donna. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and a brother Michael.
His funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 am in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford.
Interment will be follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
