LOWELL- Mary E. (Fitzpatrick) Byron, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Friday morning, May 11th, at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of the late George R. Byron, who died in April of 2004.
She was born in Concord, MA, a daughter of the late Edward F. and Mary (Velicka) Fitzpatrick, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Lowell High School.
She was a longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and John Battle, of Pepperell; a son and daughter-in-law: George E. and Lisa Byron, of Tyngsboro; six grandchildren: Kim, and her husband Chris Lampron; Brian, Jill, and Jennifer Battle; and Brittany and Adam Byron; one great granddaughter: Alyssa Lampron; and her sister: Anna Fierimonte, of Lowell.
She was the grandmother of the late Jay W. Lorrey.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, May 14th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered on Tuesday, May 15th, at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
