W. E. Mock, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at V. A. Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 16, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Elder Jerry Barrs, Rev. Joel Tucker and Rev. Larry Sweat officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 Tuesday evening.
Mr. Mock was born August 8, 1921 in Berrien County to the late Miles Monroe and Eunice McMillan Mock. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life and was a former resident of Wilcox County. Mr. Mock was a retired machinist, welder and logger. He was a member of the Fitzgerald Primitive Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army, World War II, veteran serving with 5th Armored Division, Rhineland Central Europe Campaign.
Mr. Mock is survived by a daughter: Mary (Larry) Tucker of Lake City, FL; son: Thomas Mock of Nashville, GA; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Underwood Mock and two brother and two sisters.
