Obituary

Eugene P. Bourget, 86, of Early Village Drive, Blackstone, died Friday at The Friendly Home in Woonsocket. He was the husband of Cecile (Ledoux) Bourget.
Born in Montreal P.Q., Canada, he was a son of the late Arthur and Georgianna (Laferte) Bourget. He was a resident of Woonsocket for most of his life, before moving to Blackstone in 1988.
Mr. Bourget served during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 15th Air Force, in Italy.
Mr. Bourget served as a police officer in the City of Woonsocket for over 25 years before retiring in 1972. After his retirement from the Police Department, he worked as a clerk in the Safe Department of the Rhode Island Hospital Trust Bank for 10 years, retiring from there in 1982.
He was a member of the Woonsocket Police Relief Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jeanne C. Speel, of Blackstone, two grandchildren, Duncan Speel, of Quincy, MA, and Judith Atanasov, of Winthrop, MA., 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all of his 9 brothers and sisters.
