Lorraine J. (Wakefield) Babcock, age 75, died Friday, May 11, surrounded by her family at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Henry Babcock, Jr. who died in October, 2003.
She was born in Lowell on June 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice (Poirier) Wakefield. Mrs. Babcock was a lifelong resident of Lowell and was a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church.
She enjoyed dancing, spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Sirois of Hudson, NH, Diane Sirois and her husband George of Lowell, Henry Babcock and his wife Theresa of Lowell, Carla Renk and her husband Bob of Derry, NH and Kelly Babcock of Lowell; a sister, Alice Briggs of Orange Park, FL; also seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Ernest Sirois and sister of the late Robert Wakefield.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Tuesday, May 15th from 4 to 8pm. Funeral Wednesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 o'clock at St. Michael's Church. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
