DRACUT-Emilia A. (Klosowicz) Samowski, 85, a longtime resident of Dracut, and formerly a resident of Lowell died Thursday, May 10th in Saints Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Jullian E. Samowski with whom she was married to for 57 years.
She was born on August 16, 1921 in Lowell a daughter of the late Stanley and the late Cecylia (Lach) Klosowicz and graduated from Lowell High School in the class of 1939.
Mrs. Samowski was employed by the Lowell Five Cents Savings Bank for 30 years where she most recently worked as a comptroller until retiring.
In her free time she enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and dancing.
She was a past president of the PAV Ladies Auxiliary, a past president of the PAV of Massachusetts Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Dom Polski in Lowell.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Jullian E. Samowski, Jr. of Dracut; two daughters, Cynthia A. Olszewski and her husband William of Hudson, NH and Martha E. Surprenant of Granby, CT; her sister Stasia M. Lipka of Dracut; four grandchildren, William Olszewski and his fiance Monique Gauthier of Merrimack, NH, James Olszewski of Hudson, NH, Matthew Surprenant of Granby, CT and Michael Surprenant of Boston; many nephews and nieces.
She was also the sister of the late Edward Klosowicz and the sister of the late Sophie Glowienski.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Her funeral services will be on Tuesday from the funeral home at 10:00 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM in The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Lowell.
