Fall River - Maria Da Luz (Medeiros)Furtado, age 86 of 1748 Highland Ave., previously of 547 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA. and Somerset, died Wednesday at the Highlander Rehab. Nursing Center.
She was the widow of the late Manuel Jose Verissimo. She is survived by One Son: Jose Manuel Verissimo of Sao Miguel, Azores; Two Daughters: Maria Isabel Ferreira of Somerset, and Maria Margarida Pavao of Fall River; and Several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Isabel Da Conceicao Medeiros and the late Maria Merces Furtado.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Justino Furtado Medeiros and the late Maria Dos Anjos (Cordeiro) Medeiros. She came to the U.S. in May of 1982 until present. She was a Homemaker and a member of St. Michael Church.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-9 PM.
