Alan F. Hurd 60 of South Attleboro died suddenly May 7 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Diane (Tousignant) Hurd.
Born in Norwood January 28, 1947 the son of the late Donald and Sarah “Sally” (Allen) Hurd, Mr. Hurd was raised in East Walpole and had lived in South Attleboro for the past 23 years.
He was a graduate of Fisher Junior College and Stonehill College.
Mr. Hurd had been a truck driver for New England Services for the past several years. He had previously worked for the Getty Petroleum Company.
Mr. Hurd was a Notary Public.
He served in the Navy during the Viet Nam War and was a member of the South Attleboro VFW Post 115.
He had been active in the Cub and Boys Scouts.
He enjoyed deep sea fishing and scuba diving and loved to cook.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Kevin Hurd of South Attleboro, his daughter Nalaine Gonsalves of Norton and his grandchild Dannaie.
He is also survived by his brothers Donald Hurd of Pittsburgh, PA, Leon Hurd of Vero Beach, Fla., Dennis Hurd of Rockland, Richard Hurd of Raynham and his sisters Carol MacKinnon of Foxboro and Eileen Hurd of Vero Beach, Fla.
His funeral service wil be held on Friday, May 11 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main St. Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Calling hours will be on Friday from 5:00-7:30p.m.
Internment wil be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
