Obituary

Joseph W. RAYMOND,87, of George Allen Road, Chepachet, an Administrative Advisor to Macera Martini Transportation Co., died peacefully Monday, May 7, 2007, at RI Hospital.
He was the husband of Elaine (Carlson) Raymond. Born in Providence, a son of the late Frederick J. and Frances (Stuve) Raymond. He lived in Chepachet since 1969. He had previously lived in Greenville.
Mr. Raymond was an Air Force veteran of WWII. He was an owner and operator of the former Raymond & Higgins Oil Company. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Pius X Council, a member of the Air Force Assn. and former member of the Balfour Cole Post and the Smithfield Sportsmens Club. He was a graduate of New England Technical School, now known as NE Technical Institute.
He is also survived by his children, Patricia Raymond of Glocester, Joseph Raymond, Jr. and his wife Pamela, of North Providence, two grandchildren Rebecca Raymond of Warwick, Anthony Raymond of North Providence, and his “adopted” family, Wayne Martini and his wife Jen, their son Wayne, Jr, and daughter Jenna, all of Scituate, and a brother Frederick Raymond and his wife, Marilyn, of Orange County, CA. He was the brother of the late Edward Raymond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
