Constance “Connie” A. (Fortunato) Chester, of Lynn, formerly of Medford, died Sunday at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a brief illness. She was 61.
Raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and the late Constance L. (Giannelli) Fortunato. A member of East Boston’s Sons of Italy, Connie was a receptionist at Gannett, Welsh and Cotler, a Boston investment firm.
The beloved wife of George M. Chester, she was the devoted mother of Christopher of Tewksbury. She was a loving sister to Donna Fortunato and her fiancé Carl "Ted" Holden of Dracut. She was a dear aunt to Michele and Anthony Pappalardo. Connie also leaves many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be offered Thursday, May 10th at 11:30 AM at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Wednesday from 4 thru 8PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
