WORCESTER-Charles P. Saunders, Sr., 88, of 36 Crest Circle, died Friday, November 15th in U-Mass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus after being stricken ill. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Mildred (Lane) Saunders in 1979; a son, Charles P. Saunders, Jr. in 1994; 4 brothers, Alfred and John Siedlewicz, Henry and Frank Sanders; and a sister Wanda Slocum. He leaves his close friend, Doris Wrightson; several nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces and great great nephews and nieces. He was born in Leicester the son of Frank and Josephine (Archarka) Siedlewicz and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School.
Mr. Saunders worked in the custodial department at Clark University for many years, retiring in 1984. He previously was employed as a wire drawer at Thompson Wire for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
The funeral will be Tuesday, November 19th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
