WORCESTER-Hieronim “Henry” M. Skonieczny, 76, of 42 King Philip Road, died Friday, November 15th in the Hospice Residence after an illness. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Dolores T. (Gecavich) Skonieczny; a son, Kenneth Skonieczny of Worcester; a daughter, Jacqueline Hochstin of Plymouth, MA; a brother, Edmund Skonieczny of N. Brookfield; 6 grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester the son of Henry and Adeline (Struchko) Skonieczny and has lived here all of his life. He attended the former Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Skonieczny worked for many years as a machinist for the former Botwinik Brothers Co., retiring in 1989. He then worked as a machinist for the former Norton Co. in Northboro. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the Greendale Retired Men’s Club. He loved woodworking, home remodeling and small appliance repair.
The funeral will be Monday, November 18th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday, November 17th, in the funeral home.
