Obituary

Vera Alethia "Leigh" Beasley Griner, 51, of Tifton, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the Raybon Church of God of Prophecy in Nahunta. Rev. Joe Crumley and Rev. Danny Hicks will officiate with burial to follow in the family plot in Hortense Cemetery in Hortense. Pallbearers will be Virgil Woodcock, Paul Woodcock, Kevin Lane, Deryl Davison, Lamar Lee and Chris Boyd. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 6, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Griner was born on April 5, 1956 in Brunswick (Glynn County) and was the daughter of Rev. William Clayton Beasley and Vera Davis Beasley, both of Hortense. She was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God and had worked as a medical records clerk at Affinity Health Group.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griner is survived by her husband, Duane Griner of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Michelle McDaniel of Quitman; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and James Tucker of Macon; and one sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Chris Flowers of Hortense; two grandchildren, Kirstin McDaniel of Quitman and Abby Gale Tucker of Macon; one niece, Kelli Flowers; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
