Katie Pearl Dixon Morehead, 94, of Ocilla, died Thursday, May 3, at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, May 6, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with Elder Otis McGee and Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Morehead was born July 24, 1912, in Carroll County, to the late Garfield and Anna Belle Perrin Williams. She lived in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties most all her life. Mrs. Morehead was a former employee of Fitzgerald Underwear and she helped her husband at Morehead’s Fruit Stand. She was a Tupperware Representative and she was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie & Wayne McCrimmon of Irwinville, Virginia & Alvin Evans of Perry, Sandra Jacobs of Tifton, Linda & Wayne Weaver and Iris & Dan Henderson, all of Ocilla; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elbert Dixon and second husband, C.L. Morehead, a son Jimmy Dixon and a daughter, Lafern Dixon.
