SHREWSBURY-Ethel R. (Roberts) Slater, 89, of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, May 3rd in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband Forrest E. Slater died in 1977. She leaves a son, Forrest A. Slater of Shrewsbury; and a daughter, Annmarie Blodgett of Worcester; 8 grandchildren, Arthur, Michelle, Christopher and Jennifer Blodgett, Cheryl Redmond, Forrest E., John and Erin Slater; 8 great-grandchildren Charles Lane, Danielle and Megan Savoie, Autumn Blodgett, Allie LaFlash, Kayla and Rihanna Ferraro and John Slater; and a great-great grandson, Anthony Lane, several nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Arthur and Louise (Courtemanche) Roberts, and was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mrs. Slater was a member of St. Anne’s Church and a mother of Grace Community Christian Center.
The funeral is Saturday, May 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, May 4th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
