Obituary

Maggie Bell Brown was born in Epes, Alabama to the loving parents of Sam and Mattie Little on June 26, 1927. She departed this life peacefully after a long battle with cancer on May 2, 2007. She was the sixth of nine children. She was orphaned at age 3 and lived with her Aunt Dora who she loved for several years. By the age of 15 she moved to Warrior, Alabama to attend school.

She was the loving mother of five children, Michael, Billy, Karen, Paul and Lisa. Maggie resided in Lorain County in Ohio for 29 years before relocating back to Alabama.

She had a variety of occupations and was a diligent worker at whatever she did. She was a nursing assistant and later started her own restaurant and did whatever jobs her hands found to do to provide for her family.

She loved to fish and was the life of the party whenever the family got together. She loved her family and loved to entertain. She was very well known for her cooking and her hospitality. She enjoyed sewing and loved to travel. Most of all she loved the Lord. She served as an usher and deaconess as well as worked with the hospitality committee.

During the time of her illness she fought bravely and demonstrated tremendous faith in her Lord and Savior. She leaves to mourn one brother, Samuel Little and one sister, Lusterbell Jackson; five children: Michael Holland, Bill (LaDoris) Holland, Karen Holland, Paul (April) Holland and Lisa (Lonney) Carr; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Seventh-day Adventist Church (823 Brownsferry Street) Athens, Alabama with Pastor Roy Rugless, Officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The remains of Ms. Brown will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time.
