Obituary

Paul A. Gilman, 78, a resident of Peabody for 46 years, & formerly of Revere & Everett entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2007 at the Hunt Nursing & Retirement Center in Danvers.

Born in Everett, son of the late Joseph & Estelle (Finklestein) Gilman, Mr. Gilman was raised & educated in Revere, graduating from Revere High School. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 3, 1946 at Ft. Banks in Massachusetts & served with the 590th Engr Base Survey Co. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal & was honorably discharged on November 18, 1947 at Ft. Lawton in Washington. Upon returning from military service, Mr. Gilman was employed as an auto body repairman, retiring from Geneva Autobody in 2001. He enjoyed working around his house & sports. Mr. Gilman found the most enjoyment spending time with his grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Arnofsky) Gilman of Peabody; his daughters, Renee Adkins of Lynn, Jody Murray of Peabody, & Cindy Yanofsky of Peabody; his grandchildren, Brianne, Lindsay, Derek, Shayna, Joshua, & Hannah; his great-granddaughters, Emily & Kristen; & his sisters, Selma Epstein of Revere & Suzanne Matthews of Baltimore, MD.

Funeral services will be held in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Sudilcov Cemetery, Everett. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Cindy Yanofsky immediately following the burial. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St. Danvers, MA 01923.
