Joanne (Eadie) Doherty of Hopkinton, formerly of Needham died on Tuesday May 1st at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. Joanne was 52 years old. Born in Needham, she was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1972 and Northeastern University. A talented sketch artist, Joanne sketched various historical scenes of Needham for greeting cards sold by Taylor’s Stationary. As a college student in 1973, Joanne went to work at Newton Wellesley Hospital, embarking on a hospital career that spanned over 33 years. She worked several years in the Radiology Dept and for many years as a Technologist in Nuclear Medicine. Joanne worked at the hospital until 2 months ago, when she had to leave due to her illness. She had been a resident of Hopkinton for 18 years. She was the beloved wife for 28 years of Daniel J. Doherty and the loving mother of Jennifer B. and Brett T. Doherty of Hopkinton. Joanne was the devoted daughter of David and Norma (Dawson) Eadie of Falmouth and sister of Gregg I. Eadie of Sacramento, CA . She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church 800 Highland Ave Needham on Friday May 4th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment at Needham Cemetery.
