FALL RIVER - Minnie (Mattos) Silvia, age 85, of 1748 Highland Ave., Fall River, died Tuesday at the Highlander Rehabilitation Nursing Center. She was the widow of the late Joseph Silvia. She is survived by 2 Nieces: Rosemary Williams of Assonet, MA & Tammy Lee Medeiros of New Bedford, 1 Nephew: Tommy Lee Boyce of New Bedford, & several great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Flora Morris and aunt of the late Roger W. Boyce
Born in Rehoboth, the daughter of the late Antone Mattos and the late Mary (Rose) Mattos. She was a resident of Fall River, Westport, before moving back to Fall River. Before retiring, she was a folder at a local curtain factory in the Flint. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Her funeral will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. on Thursday with visitation from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. followed by a service in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
