Obituary

WEBSTER – Kazimira E. “Kay” (Ostrowski) Faber, 90, of 86 Slater Street, died Tuesday, May 1, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Her husband of 56 years, Edward S. “Dusty” Faber, Sr., died in 1997.

She leaves a son, Edward S.and his wife, Kathleen E. Faber, Jr. of Salem, New Hampshire; 2 daughters, Charlotte A. Peterson of Irvine, California and Janice R. and her husband Ron Mayes of Webster; 1 brother, Theodore F. Ostrowski of Hanson; 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey E. and Scott R. Faber, Lisa A. Callahan, Christopher J. Mayes, Jennifer L. Morton and Erick E. Peterson; 8 great grandchildren, Nicole E., Leah M. and Erin K. Faber, Austin E., Ryan W. and Jack D. Callahan, Dakoda Coady and Kaitlyn Morton; she was predeceased by 2 sisters Wladyslawa Gongeleski and Evelyn S. Remijan.

She was born in Southbridge, a daughter of Dominik and Aleksandra (Kowalczyk) Ostrowski, and was a lifelong resident of Webster and Southbridge.

Mrs. Faber worked for American Optical and was a spinner for the Maanexit Woolen Mills. She and her husband co-owned the Liberty Club where she also worked in the kitchen . She enjoyed knitting and sewing and was an excellent Polish cook.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and its Polish Women’s Club.

The funeral will be held Saturday, May 5, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 8:30 to 10:15 AM Saturday, May 5, in the funeral home. Family requests memorial donations be made to either the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038 or to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Breast Cancer Research, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
