Dartmouth-Pearl (Sylvia) Souza aged 89 years died Monday April 30th, at St Lukes Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Manuel Souza. She was the loving mother of Rosalie Sylvia of Dartmouth, Priscilla Maurice of Plymouth, Diane Dupont of Dartmouth, and Daniel Souza of New York. She was the mother of the late Robert Souza. She was the sister of Viola DeBarros and the late Dorothy Lazaro. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces, and nephews.
Mrs Souza was the daughter of the late Mary (Silveira) Cardoza and Henry Sylvia. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area most of his life. She was a Stitcher at Bonneys Sportswear until her retirement. She was a member of the Bliss corner Sr. club and the garment workers union club.
Mrs Souzas Funeral is arranged by the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth at 10 A.M.. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.
