Obituary

Thomas Paul Geruso, of 78 Pichette Blvd, Woonsocket, RI, died Saturday after a long battle with cancer. Tom shared the past 27 years with his wife and best friend Kathleen Mary (Shunney) also of Woonsocket. He was the son of Rita Geruso of Cumberland and the late Angelo Geruso. He is survived by two sons, Joshua Thomas Geruso of North Carolina and Timothy Paul Geruso of Woonsocket and one daughter Kelly Elizabeth Fortier, two grandsons Zachary Michael Fortier and Nathaniel Thomas Fortier, also of Woonsocket, one brother John Angelo Geruso of Denton, Texas and a sister, Leona (Geruso) Spiesman of Monroe, North Carolina and Timmy J who was always like a son.

Tom was a licensed electrian who operated his own business in Woonsocket. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed teaching the game as well as watching it on TV. He was a true Red Sox and Patriots fan. He devoted many hours sharing his love of sports with his children and all children as he coached baseball and soccer. Tom was umpire in chief for EWLL. He received the Roland F. Landry Award, in 2000 from the East Woonsocket Little Leage in recognition for his devotion to youth baseball. He enjoyed camping and golf and being outdoors. Most of all Tom enjoyed sharing his time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

There will be a visitation for family and friends at Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, RI on Wednesday, May 2nd at 9:00 am. A memorial mass will flollow at St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket, RI, beginning at 10:30 am. The burial will be private.
