TEWKSBURY - Carole S. (Youngquist) Hirsh, age 72, a Tewksbury resident since 1961, died
Saturday evening, April 28, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Care Center in Lowell. She was the
wife of Gordon S. Hirsh, with whom he celebrated a 53rd wedding anniversary this past March
20th.
She was born in Boston, July 26, 1934, a daughter of the late William Youngquist and Ingeborg
(Beckstrom) (Youngquist) Schill. She was raised in Allston and Brighton, and moved to
Tewksbury in 1961.
In her earlier years, was active in the Orbiteer’s Drum and Bugle Corps, and her later years was
an avid Bingo player.
She was described as having devoted her life to her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, Karen Finnegan and her husband Owen of
Londonderry, NH, Kenneth Hirsh and his wife Theresa (Gillard) of Tewksbury, Linda Houle and
her partner Kevin Hanley of Nashua, Dean Hirsh and his wife Christine (Morin) of Tewksbury,
Pamela Boulet and her husband Randy of Nashua, NH, Karl Hirsh and his wife Lisa (Jellison) of
Tewksbury; a brother William Youngquist of Belmont; 15 grandchildren; and her lifelong friend,
Ruth Bradley of Tewksbury.
Her Funeral Service was held Wednesday, May 2, in the Tewksbury Congregational
Church, Tewksbury Center. Burial followed at
Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the American Lung Assn., 460 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA
02451, will be appreciated.
