Mary C. Wellman, 70

Mary C. (Oliver) Wellman, 70, of Willow Crossing in Mansfield died on Sunday April 29, 2007 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Northbridge, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank T. Wellman to whom she was wed to for 39 years at the time of his death on November 16, 2005.
Born in Boston, Mass. on May 17, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Ruth Oliver.
She grew up in Norwood and was educated in Norwood schools. She was a 1956 graduate of Norwood High School. Mrs. Wellman had worked for the Remy Moving and Storage Co. in Walpole for over 10 years before retiring.
Mary had attended St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She treasured the times spent with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed the trips taken with her late husband to the Cape Cod Canal and Plymouth Harbor. Since living at Willow Crossing she enjoyed playing Bingo and Skipo with her friends. Mary was also an avid New England sports enthusiast. She had lived in Mansfield for over 40 years and was formerly of Norwood and Boston.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters; Susan M. DeYesso and her husband Joseph of Cumberland, R.I. and Patricia A. Plante and her husband Christopher of Douglas, MA. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Thomas DeYesso, Michael DeYesso and Katherine DeYesso all of Cumberland, R.I. and Megan Plante of Douglas, MA. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday May 2nd at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday May 1st from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Mary’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
