
Joseph L. Braley, 87, of 152 A Beech Street, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham, following a long illness. He was the Husband of the late Beatrice Mary (Hamm) Braley, who died in 1999.
Born in Westborough, February 15, 1920 a son of the late Edward H. and Sarah J. (Drumgool) Braley, he formerly lived in Northwood, New Hampshire and in Natick for many years before relocating to Franklin.
Until his retirement, Mr. Braley worked for the Webb Supply Co. of Framingham, as a salesman.
During World War II, he served in the US Army. He attained the rank of Private First Class, and was stationed in Central Europe. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, The World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after 2 years of service.
He was a member of Ashland Post VFW, the Franklin Senior Citizens, The American Assoc. of Retired Persons, and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
He is survived by a son: Edward H. Braley of Bellingham, a daughter Cathy Burnham of Franklin, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Joseph and James Braley, and the brother of the late Edward, Gabriel and Francis Braley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Monday, April 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM in St. Blaise Church, 1158 Main Street, Rt. 126, Bellingham. Interment with military honors will follow at the Braley family lot in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 30, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Blaise Church.
