Charles A. "Chuck" Giroux, 78, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday, April 27, 2007 in the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Chuck was born in Manchester on February 18, 1929, a son of the late Alfred N. and Bertha (Cowan) Giroux. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past 37 years, formerly living in Derry, NH and Hooksett, NH. He graduated high school in Manchester and had served in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne. Chuck had owned and operated Chuck's Cycle in Londonderry for many years. Over the years, he had also been employed as a well driller, a welder and a truck driver. Chuck had been a member of the VFW and the American Legion. One of his enjoyments was working with leather.
He is survived by two sons, Donald Giroux and his wife Denise of Epping, NH, and Steven Giroux and his wife Kathy of Pittsfield, NH; as well as two grandsons, Max Giroux and Zack Giroux. He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Messier) Giroux who died in 1982, and by two brothers, Alfred and Howard Giroux.
Calling hours were on Monday, April 30th from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10:30am in the funeral home. The burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry.
