Robert M. "Bob" Grime, Jr., 50, of New Bedford died Thursday April 26, 2007 peacefully at home after a long courageous battle against esophageal cancer. He was the loving husband and best friend of Sherrie (Holden) Grime, and proud father of Hector Grime.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Theresa (Spoor) Grime and the late Robert M. Grime, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Bob worked in retail for many years before receiving his Emergency Medical Technician license. He was President of STAT Ambulance Service of New England Inc., U.S. Realty, and U.S. Realty 672. He also was a real estate agent with Center Street Realty.
He enjoyed being with his family, camping, and listening to Jimmy Buffett. He was a proud dance parent and enjoyed the time he spent with the Center Stage Dance Studio Competition Team.
He is survived by his wife, mother, and son; two sisters, Claudia Sampson of New Bedford and Deborah Daigle of Dartmouth; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and George Holden; his brother-in-law, Michael D. Holden; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
His family would like to thank the staff of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Community Nurse and Hospice Care, and all of their family and friends for their loving care and support.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 5-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert M.
