Obituary

Raymond David Dickey age 91, of Water Valley, MS passed away at the Baptist Memorial Hospital N-MS on Thursday, April 26, 2007. Mr. Dickey, a life long resident of Water Valley, was the son of the late Mack and Nettie Tutor Dickey. He served his country in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII and received a Purple Heart. A member of Camp Ground Baptist Church, he worked as an electrician and plumber for many years and was well known and loved by many residents of Water Valley.

Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks on Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 service time. Services will be conducted in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Reverend Troy Hurdle and Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Richard Carlisle, Billy Gene Moorhead, Billy Stark, Billy Maples, Horace Hardy and Jeff Tubbs serving as pallbearers.

Surviving Mr. Dickey are; his wife of 68 years, Helen Woodall Dickey of Water Valley, MS; a daughter, Catherine Raley of Bartlett, TN; two granddaughters, Deana Maples of Oxford, MS and Cathy Russell of Tallahassee, FL; two grandsons, Darren Raley of Midlothian, VA and David Dickey of Oxford, MS; six great grandchildren and a granddaughter by choice, Carrie Carlisle.

Preceding Mr. Dickey in death in addition to his parents were; a son, David Dickey; sisters, Maxine Tubbs, Pert Early, Leona Wilbourn and Lorrine Hammonds; brothers, Roy Dickey and Charlie Earl Dickey.
