Obituary

Cynthia “Cindy” C. (Conley) Wiatrowski, 42, of Winchester, formerly of Washington, DC and Braintree, died on April 23rd at Youville Hospital in Cambridge following a brave 5 year battle with breast cancer. Born in Washington, DC, Cindy graduated from Braintree High School with the Class of 1982 and furthered her education at Stonehill College, earning a B.S. in Communications in 1986. After graduation she was employed as an advertising executive with Boston’s WSBK-TV38, and later in Washington DC with WTTG FOX5. She worked as a political media buyer and formed her own agency in 1999.

During her summers and spare time, she enjoyed Cape Cod, gardening, going to the beach, and spending time with her daughters Helena, Anna and Olivia. An avid runner, she ran in the 100th Boston Marathon and was a member of the 109th Boston Marathon Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team. Cindy also enjoyed participating in the Georgetown Women’s Bible Study and was active at Georgetown’s Holy Trinity School during her years in Washington, DC. Cindy co-founded a charity which is funding the living expenses of the families of the wounded servicemen and women at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband Mark, her three daughters Helena, Anna and Olivia; her parents Dr. James and Cathleen (Carney) Conley of Braintree; her four brother Christopher of Ridgefield, CT, Gregory of Belmont, James, Jr. of Milton and David of Braintree; two sisters Christina Conley of Milton and Tara Conley-Wilson of Rockland. She also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday at 9 a.m. at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St. Winchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at St. Mary’s Church Winchester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s School Development Fund c/o Steve Ultrino, 162 Washington St., Winchester 01890. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
